What's new in my life! 7/31/00

I am now 19-months-old. As you can see from the above picture, I won a contest and got my picture on the cover of the magazine, Vegetarian Baby and Toddler! They said my picture won by a "landslide" :)

My biggest kick lately is climbing EVERYTHING! Every few minutes, I'm being taken off the kitchen table; I like to go up there to see the flowers. I climb up so high on the chairs I can reach the pictures on the wall and play with them.

I just started talking pretty much yesterday. I could say a few words very quietly and sign a few others I couldn't say. But yesterday, I woke up to the sound of barking and asked my mommy, "What's that?" And answered myself, "That's a dog." Just out of the blue! I went from "hi" and "bye" to sentences! Mommy knew I could understand what she says to me, but I just took my own time using the words myself. Yea, me!

Ever since I moved into Roan's room, now our room, I have been sleeping all through the night! I moved in back in February, and had a few rough nights, but by the week's end, I was going the full nine hours. I wake up, open the door, and toddle off to Mommy and Dadda's bed and climb inside all by myself!

I'm getting to be such a big girl now :)
